As a citizen in Vallensbæk everything is on your doorstep - only a 15 minutes drive to Copenhagen and regardless of where you live in Vallensbæk rarely more than a 10 minutes bikeride to recreational areas and nature. Our level of service also reflects our versatility. We have many and varied leisure-, elder care/nursing-, school- and daycare options/offers to all our citizens.

The sportsclubs and associations have favourable conditions in Vallensbæk. It is possible to participate in everything from ballgames and scout activities to sailsport and riding, and with sportfacilities, riding center, waterski center and a golf course the municipality is characterised by a high priority of leasure- and sports life/activities.

Vallensbæk is a modern municipality which offers a high level of service which is supported by the comprehensive use of information technology. The municipal council consists of 14 town councillors and the mayor, Kurt Hockerup. The municipal council is elected every fourth year, and the next election will be held in 2013.
